Description: Teen Challenge North is a residential rehabilitation program located in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada which offers young men and adults ages 18 and over, freedom from drug and alcohol dependence. Based on Christian principles and funded entirely through donations, the program offers spiritual, academic and vocational training, equipping individuals to return to society as responsible citizens. Program includes: immediate removal of all addictive substances (including cigarettes); a highly disciplined program demanding a cooperative attitude; mandatory participation in all aspects of the daily program; limited off property freedom (approved passes only); commitment to the 12 month program; willingness to consider an interdenominational Christian treatment approach that is not dependent upon the use of psychotropic medications.

Description: The Addictions Program is a long-term residential treatment centre for clients 18 and older. Structured program. Treatment models offered are psychosocial, bio-psychosocial, cognitive-behavioural, and existential-humanistic therapies. Must participate in all aspects of program. Must admit drug/alcohol problem and be motivated to receive treatment. Anger management is part of the program. Cycle starts every four weeks. New clients accepted in mid-cycle are held in "pre-phase" until cycle restarts.

Description: This program offers client-centered care using a case management approach and bio-psychosocial rehabilitation for clients ages 16 and older. Intensive treatment is available to persons requiring the support of a hospital-based program. Applicants who have problematic levels of addiction and a major psychiatric disorder are the organization's mandate, including those who require medical monitoring or nursing care that makes acceptance into another facility difficult. Applicants must be in stable condition. Applicants from methadone maintenance programs who have psychiatric disorders are eligible. Consultation for public and professionals is available. Referrals may be made by community treatment organizations, doctors, psychiatrists, hospitals and clinics. It is imperative that there be a physician/psychiatrist involved with the client and be willing to provide follow-up care. Intensive Community Treatment is available for clients who meet the criteria for the Concurrent Disorders Program in the Thames Valley area.
