We are here to advise you of all levels of care available to you in your region or throughout the province what ever services you need. Detoxification, Rehabilitation, and even Intervention are all services we can help you to locate throughout the province of Ontario.
Detoxification is needed whenever a person is taking drugs to which they have become physically dependent. Withdrawal management centers in Ontario vary from medically unsupervised dry out centers where clients go "cold turkey" to medically supervised facilities where minimal medications are used to help the client to avoid any risks to his or her health while their bodies go through the shock of detoxification. and then there are full medical detoxification programs where a person is under constant medical supervision and typically there are several medications prescribed in an effort to limit any discomfort associated with detox.
Rehabilitation is a general term that refers to substance abuse treatment centers of varying degrees of severity. Drug rehabilitation centers in Ontario include outpatient counseling centers which are the lowest intensity programs where clients report to the facility for counselling and therapy sessions but continue to reside in their homes. Then there are residential drug rehab programs which alter the addicts living arrangements and provide safe structured housing to ensure that the abstinence from drugs is adhered to. Finally there are Halfway houses which provide a structured abstinence based environment where addicts are free to leave to go to work or school but they are subject to the rules of the house which always include a zero tolerance policy for substance abuse.
Intervention services in Ontario have grown in popularity as the average Ontarian has become aware of how powerful a tool Intervention can be when a family has an addict in denial about his or her addiction. there are several different models of intervention but first and foremost there is the decision to hire a professional or to conduct the intervention as a family. once a decision has been made to go either professional or family you must decide if the surprise intervention (Johnson's model) or whether an open approach where the addict is made aware of the intentions from the beginning (Systemic Family Intervention) are to be employed.
